Arab Bank Iraq implemented BML Istisharat ICBS (Integrated Computerized Banking System) in 2024 to provision core deposits, loans, trade finance, KYC/compliance and API-driven digital channels for a greenfield banking launch in Iraq. The deployment targeted a new commercial bank established in 2024 and was executed across 2024–2025 to align operations with local regulatory requirements and scalable core processing.
The implementation used BML Istisharat ICBS G5 as the Core Banking platform, with explicit coverage of deposits, lending, trade finance, customer due diligence and compliance workflows, and an API layer for digital channel orchestration. Configuration emphasized standard core banking workflows such as account lifecycle management, loan origination and servicing, trade instrument processing, and KYC case management consistent with Core Banking functional patterns.
Operational integration focused on API-driven digital channels, enabling internet and mobile banking front ends and third-party channel connectivity through the ICBS API framework, while keeping transaction processing and ledger services centralized within the ICBS core. The rollout was scoped to support both deposit-taking and trade finance business functions, reflecting the bank’s commercial and corporate product mix during its greenfield launch in Iraq.
Governance and rollout occurred during 2024–2025, with program controls directed at regulatory compliance, configuration management and staged operational cutover to the ICBS G5 modules. Arab Bank Iraq’s implementation story centers on embedding BML Istisharat ICBS (Integrated Computerized Banking System) as the institutional Core Banking backbone to enforce KYC controls, support trade finance operations and enable API-led digital delivery.
