In 2020, Aro Drilling implemented IFS ERP, classified as ERP Financial, at its headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and across its fleet of 16 drilling rigs including offshore jackups. The deployment targeted consolidation of disparate business software and was provisioned for 2,400 onshore and offshore users within nine months. Aro Drilling operates as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Valaris and deployed the solution to unify operational and financial workflows across corporate and field sites.
IFS ERP was configured to support maintenance management, supply chain management, finance, and human capital management. Functional capabilities implemented included procurement workflows, inventory control, maintenance scheduling and work order management, and core financial ledgers consistent with an ERP Financial implementation. Configuration emphasized aligning maintenance processes with supply chain and inventory visibility to support rig operations and crew workflows.
The rollout covered headquarters in Riyadh and the companys rig fleet, provisioning onshore and offshore operational workflows across 16 drilling sites. ProV International served as the implementation partner for the project. The deployment architecture connected field operations to centralized financial processing and supported user access patterns for both onshore staff and offshore rig crews.
Governance followed a nine month rollout schedule with IT oversight and phased user provisioning for 2,400 users. IT Director Anas Mosa summarized the operational impact, stating, "From streamlined procurement and inventory management to more efficient maintenance of critical equipment on our rigs, IFS Applications has made a real difference in how we operate."
