In 2014, Arrow Electronics implemented Oracle WebCenter Accounts Payable as part of an AP Automation initiative. The Oracle WebCenter Accounts Payable deployment concentrated on accounts payable workflow standardization, testing, development, and end user training, with implementation activities coordinated by Management, IT, and Senior Analysts.
Configuration work emphasized invoice intake, validation, workflow routing, and payment coordination to support daily invoice processing and supplier interactions. Functional focus included invoice capture, approvals orchestration, and exception handling to reduce manual intervention consistent with AP Automation capabilities.
Operationally the implementation centered on the Accounts Payable organization, where an Accounts Payable Coordinator aligned testing and training tasks and coordinated directly with analysts and suppliers to ensure timely and correct payment processing on a daily basis. Physical rollout logistics included coordination with Facilities and Consolidation to arrange A/P paperwork, computers, seating charts, moving bins, and filing cabinets for a site move from building 3 to building 1 executed in April of 2015.
Governance combined cross functional test plans, staged user training, and hands on backlog remediation, with the team completing a five week backlog within three weeks after initial onboarding at Arrow. This positioned Arrow Electronics Oracle WebCenter Accounts Payable AP Automation implementation to support the accounts payable business function through coordinated governance and supplier payment processes.
