In 2018 Ascent Global Logistics implemented Revenova TMS as part of a Transportation Management initiative to consolidate twelve trucking entities into a single division. The project manager based in Milwaukee led a cross functional team from August 2018 to October 2021, coordinating system testing, bug remediation, and field training for company offices and agents.
The Revenova TMS deployment emphasized core Transportation Management capabilities including carrier onboarding and carrier setup via API, load tendering and execution workflows, shipment visibility and exception management, and extensions for third party service capabilities. The program consolidated multiple home grown TMS instances and upgraded to new TMS platforms including Revenova, McLeod, and MercuryGate while standardizing configuration, business rules, and automation across the unified division.
Integrations were executed with customer ERP systems to support onboarding of new clients and with carrier systems via API to automate carrier setup and tendering. Operational coverage included IT, sales, operations, and field agent teams, with the technical group leading integration work and sales coordinating client onboarding and requirements definition.
Governance and process changes included a formal review of overlapping job functions with recommendations for job consolidation and head count reduction, and an ongoing continuous improvement cadence to add third party capabilities to the TMS. The implementation maintained a continuous testing and remediation cycle during rollout and documented estimated savings of approximately $1 million annually from reduction in overlap.
