Oracle Legacy Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2014 2014
In 2014 Ask Jeeves implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its core ERP Financial system, deploying Oracle EBS Applications R12.2.4 to address accounts payable, cash management, general ledger and fixed assets processing. The engagement covered implementation and enhancements across financial modules, with explicit workstreams for Procure to Pay, Acquire to Retire and Record to Report business flows that aligned financial accounting and asset lifecycle management. Configuration and functional design focused on Oracle E-Business Suite financial capabilities, including design of Chart of Accounts, setup of recurring journals, statutory journals and mass allocation journals, and creation of Financial Statement Generator reports with row sets, column sets and content sets. Fixed assets configuration included corporate book creation, asset categories, flexfields for asset key location and category, and system controls. Tax configuration used EBtax with creation of a US tax regime and BR030 and BR100 rules, and GL configuration provided multiple ledger access through GL Data Access Sets together with Multi OU access via security profiles. Sub-Ledger Accounting methods and SLA rules were defined to generate multiple accounting representations, and month end close processes were formalized. The technical architecture used Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.4 integrated with Oracle RDBMS 10g for transactional persistence, Oracle Reports 10g for reporting, SQL Loader for bulk data loads, and Oracle Developer on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 for customizations and extensions. These platform components supported functional modules AP, GL, CM and FA and were used for testing, reporting and post production data loads. Governance and delivery used AIM application implementation methodology with documented artifacts such as RD.010, RD.020, BR.010, BR.030 and BR100 to capture requirements, gaps and future state processes. Responsibilities and ledger assignments were created and attached to user responsibilities for secure access, testers executed defined test scenarios and gap analysis was performed to validate requirements. End user training and knowledge transfer were delivered with training materials and user manuals covering AR, AP, GL, FA and CM, and post production support processes were established to assist month end closing and reconciliations. Operational scope encompassed finance and accounting functions across the organization with project activities including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, documentation and support for Oracle E-Business Suite. The implementation narrative centers on the deployment of Oracle E-Business Suite as the ERP Financial application, covering configuration, tax and accounting rule design, platform integration and governance practices.

GumGum Legacy GumGum Artificial Intelligence Marketing AI-Powered Application n/a 2019 2019
In 2019 Ask Jeeves deployed GumGum on its public website, provisioning GumGum as the chosen application in the Artificial Intelligence Marketing category to support on‑site advertising and content-driven monetization. The implementation is centered on delivering contextual and visual intelligence capabilities directly within the site experience, aligning ad creative with editorial content to support advertising and programmatic revenue functions. GumGum was configured to operate as an on-page contextual targeting and visual recognition layer, using site content signals and semantic analysis to inform ad decisioning and creative selection. Functional modules implemented include contextual analysis, image and scene recognition, and real-time ad selection logic consistent with Artificial Intelligence Marketing workflows. Deployment architecture is client-facing, with GumGum executed via site integration to capture page context and deliver targeted creative into existing inventory, interfacing with the site’s ad delivery pathways and programmatic stack. Operational coverage is web-focused, affecting digital advertising, product and editorial teams responsible for content tagging and inventory management across Ask Jeeves’ site. Governance and operational control were aligned to advertising operations and marketing, establishing content safety and brand suitability checks within ad selection flows and a phased rollout across site sections to minimize editorial disruption. The implementation emphasizes continuous tuning of contextual models and operational processes to maintain alignment between GumGum, site content, and programmatic monetization objectives.

Lumina Decision Systems Legacy Lumina Analytica Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2005 2005
In 2005, Ask Jeeves implemented Lumina Analytica to power an online consumer advisor used on its website for credit card selection and guidance. Lumina Analytica was used as an Analytics and BI engine to capture decision logic and to operationalize interactive question flows for consumers. Lumina Analytica’s visual modeling and Intelligent Arrays were configured to encode the core intelligence of the advisor, enabling authoring of question selection logic, product scoring models that map consumer inputs to card suitability, and natural language explanation routines that justify recommendations. The implementation emphasized model-driven configuration, allowing domain experts to build and adjust decision trees and scoring rules through visual interfaces rather than code. Operationally the deployment embedded Lumina Analytica decision outputs into Ask Jeeves’ consumer advisory workflow, driving front-end question sequencing and feeding recommendation text to the user interface. The project focused on accelerating development cycles, with the visual modeling and Intelligent Arrays explicitly supporting rapid development of the advisor’s core capabilities.
