Augsburg University deployed Workday Financial Management, an ERP Financial application, to run the university financial operations and to unify student, faculty, and staff interactions with institutional business systems. The Workday Financial Management implementation focuses on core financial management capabilities typical of the ERP Financial category, including general ledger configuration, accounts payable and receivable, procurement and purchasing workflows, budgeting and planning, financial reporting and analytics, and fund and grant accounting for higher education. Workday Financial Management is being configured to support centralized chart of accounts design, automated accounting event processing, and role based financial access for administrative and departmental users. The deployment replaces Unit4 ERPx financial functions and is being delivered with systems integrator Avaap overseeing implementation services and tenant provisioning. Workday tenant links and Workday Community access are referenced in project materials, and the program aligns financial modules with the broader campus ERP footprint that also includes HCM and student workstreams in scope. Governance and rollout are run through coordinated workstreams and a dedicated change management team, with workstreams meeting weekly and integration and functional testing underway. Implementation began in October 2026, the project status was last updated on 09/08/2026, and 494 total training hours have been completed while student preparedness findings and a student workshop are being addressed.
