The SAP S/4 HANA Finance deployment was positioned to centralize finance processing and provide a single source of truth for financial accounting across Ausgrid's finance organization, while enabling tighter integration with HR and workforce systems.
The implementation configured standard SAP S/4 HANA Finance capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, financial close controls and cash management. Configuration work emphasized chart of accounts alignment and automation of accounts payable workflows to support month end and statutory reporting processes.
SAP S/4 HANA Finance was integrated with Ausgrid's broader HCM and IT tooling, including SAP HR and planned SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, Onboarding and Recruitment modules, Kronos MyTime for workforce time capture, Chris21 Payroll, identity and access management, IT asset provisioning services and ServiceNow for IT and service workflows. Interfaces and record flows were organized to ensure finance transactions could reconcile with payroll and HR master data.
Project governance and delivery were led internally with a Senior IT Project Manager reporting to the Head of People & Culture, who validated business requirements during RFP activity for SuccessFactors modules. Governance responsibilities included vendor engagement, project finances, risk and schedule management, and coordination of business and process analysts, change managers and solution architects to operationalize end to end finance to HR processes.
