SS&C Technologies Legacy SS&C Advent Geneva Portfolio and Investment Management Investment Management n/a 2007 2007
In 2007 Avenue Capital Group implemented SS&C Advent Geneva for Portfolio and Investment Management. The engagement managed a conversion of the firm’s accounting environment from Advent Axys to SS&C Advent Geneva, concentrating on centralizing portfolio accounting and position keeping for the investment operations team. The deployment targeted accounting and middle office functions within the firm’s investment management operations, aligning system configuration to existing finance and operational workflows. SS&C Advent Geneva was configured to support core Portfolio and Investment Management capabilities including portfolio accounting, trade processing, position maintenance, reconciliation workflows, and regulatory and investor reporting. Implementation work included chart of accounts mapping, instrument master data normalization, transaction mapping, and extensive data conversion and validation of historical positions and transactions to preserve accounting continuity and auditability. Configuration and parameterization focused on ensuring consistent accounting treatment across portfolios and establishing automated reconciliation touchpoints. Governance for the project was organized as a managed conversion with phased cutover and parallel validation cycles, with formal handover to accounting and operations teams. The rollout included process standardization for reconciliations and exception handling, classroom and hands on training, and production runbooks and operational procedures to sustain Geneva as the firm’s centralized Portfolio and Investment Management system.
