In 2018, AWE PLC migrated a customised, on premise instance of Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud ERP (Fusion) as an ERP Financial deployment. The program was executed within the Frontera team and focused on replatforming bespoke financial and project accounting customizations into Oracle Cloud ERP.
The implementation included configuration and leadership of Oracle Project Management Cloud capabilities, with the author serving as Oracle Project Management Cloud lead responsible for requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, system testing, and supporting data migration. Workstreams addressed project financials and core ERP Financial functionality, applying standard financial management workflows such as general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable in the new cloud environment.
The solution included integration with Primavera P6, which was being migrated in parallel to Microsoft’s Azure platform, requiring a cloud integration approach to synchronize project schedules and financial cost data between Oracle Cloud ERP and Primavera P6. Integration design emphasized schedule-to-cost alignment and data validation during cutover, while data migration routines supported transfer of master and transactional records from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud ERP.
Governance and rollout activity was led from the Oracle Project Management Cloud role, including facilitation of requirements workshops, creation of test plans, oversight of system testing, and coordination of data migration and cutover sequencing across finance and project management teams at AWE PLC. The engagement positioned Oracle Cloud ERP as the central ERP Financial system with Oracle Project Management Cloud as the project-centric control plane interoperating with Primavera P6 on Azure.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cloud HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, AWE PLC implemented Oracle Cloud HCM as its Core HR platform. The deployment targets AWE's United Kingdom operations and centralizes employee master data, workforce lifecycle processes, and HR transactional services for approximately 6,025 employees.
The Oracle Cloud HCM implementation emphasizes canonical Core HR capabilities, including the employee data model, position and organizational structures, workforce administration, absence and leave management, and foundational talent and performance workflows. Oracle Cloud HCM has been configured to standardize HR business processes and reduce reliance on fragmented HR recordkeeping.
AWE is currently in the process of transitioning their current Oracle eBus systems across to the Oracle Fusion Cloud, creating integration points between Oracle Cloud HCM and the existing Oracle eBus estate. Integration work focuses on synchronizing HR master data and interfacing with adjacent enterprise functions, with typical Core HR integration patterns covering identity and access flows, payroll feeds, and HR data exchanges to downstream finance and operational systems.
Operational governance includes an explicit requirement for a Functional Consultant to support ongoing configuration, release adoption, and HR process governance as the suite stabilizes. The engagement centers on establishing functional ownership for role-based security, change control for HR configuration, and process orchestration to support continued Oracle Fusion Cloud rollout and future functional evolution.

In 2008, AWE PLC implemented Oracle OBIEE to deliver OBI Applications for Siebel Public Sector Case Management. John Watson was solely responsible for the full project lifecycle, owning requirements gathering, design, testing and deployment for the initiative. The implementation focused on analytics for case management and service delivery functions, aligning the Oracle OBIEE deployment with AWE PLC business reporting needs in the Analytics and BI category.
Oracle OBIEE was configured to expose OBI Applications subject areas and prebuilt reporting artifacts for Siebel Public Sector Case Management, with repository modeling, presentation catalog configuration and interactive dashboards created to support operational and management reporting. Standard Analytics and BI capabilities such as KPI reporting, drilldown analysis, and scheduled report delivery were deployed alongside tailored dashboards for case workflow and status monitoring.
The implementation integrated Oracle OBIEE with Siebel Public Sector Case Management through scheduled data extracts and ETL processes into a staging area feeding the OBIEE repository, with the BI Server and presentation services hosted on an on-premises Oracle stack. Data modeling work emphasized aligning Siebel data structures to OBI Applications subject areas and securing row and column level access for business users.
Governance was centralized under the single project lead, with structured requirements workshops, acceptance testing cycles and phased rollout to business users. Training and documentation were provided to case management teams to embed reporting into operational workflows, and the deployment established an enterprise reporting layer for ongoing Analytics and BI consumption using Oracle OBIEE.
