In 2015 AZ Sint-Maarten implemented IFS Ultimo EAM and migrated its asset management footprint to the Ultimo Cloud, establishing a cloud-first Enterprise Asset Management environment for the regional hospital. AZ Sint-Maarten is a large regional hospital that treats more than 49,000 patients annually, and the IFS Ultimo EAM deployment was positioned to support multi-campus operations and centralized technical services.
The implementation extended previously rolled out Ultimo functionality across three campuses and later to additional members of the Emmaüs group, and the configuration emphasized core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities. The deployment included a centralized asset register, preventive maintenance scheduling, structured work order management, and performance monitoring consistent with EAM best practices, with configuration and ongoing major release updates managed by the hospital team.
Operational coverage focused on facilities and technical services, with the Ultimo Cloud providing unified access across sites and reducing on-premises backup and security overhead. The narrative highlights a smooth migration to the Ultimo Cloud, enabling centralized administration and cloud-hosted backups, while maintaining high availability for maintenance workflows.
Governance and rollout were driven by Head of Projects and Quality Stijn Dupriez, following a cadence of major releases and regular updates to keep the system current. Reported outcomes include remaining up-to-date through ongoing updates, high performance and availability, additional functionality without extra licensing cost, and security and backup arrangements being put in order.
