In 2016 Bank Of Shanghai China implemented i-Sprint Innovations Universal Identity Manager (UIM) as an Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution to unify identity lifecycle, single sign on and authorization across nearly 200 internal business systems. The deployment centralized identity controls and provisioning to reduce fragmentation of authentication and access policy enforcement across the bank.
Implementation focused on identity lifecycle management, automated access provisioning, single sign on configuration, role based authorization and centralized audit logging. i-Sprint Innovations Universal Identity Manager (UIM) was configured to orchestrate onboarding workflows, entitlement assignment, authentication policy enforcement and access certification processes.
Operational coverage emphasized HR onboarding and ongoing access provisioning in China, integrating with HR onboarding processes and the banks portfolio of nearly 200 internal applications. The rollout impacted business functions including HR, IT operations, application owners and audit teams by standardizing authentication methods and access policies.
The program was delivered as a phased rollout, with Phase 1 running from Oct 2016 to Aug 2017 and governance applied incrementally to onboarded systems. The phased implementation shortened new staff onboarding from three days to about 10 minutes and established consistent audit and access policy controls across the bank.
