Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP Financial ERP n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Bath ASU implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as its ERP Financial system to centralize group accounting across Qualasept Holdings Limited, Bath ASU, Pharmaxo, Microgenetics, Corsham Science and the two holding companies. The deployment was targeted at strengthening statutory accounts preparation and audit readiness, with a specific focus on improving financial control and efficiency of transaction processing for customer billing and inventory management. The Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation encompassed core financial modules typical of an ERP Financial deployment, including general ledger configuration, accounts receivable and billing automation, accounts payable, inventory management and sales order processing. The deployment also included project accounting capabilities to support major new capital projects, fixed asset accounting, budgeting and forecasting workflows, and bank and cash management for daily liquidity reporting. Operational coverage extended across the Group Accounting and Finance teams in the United Kingdom, with the Systems Accountant role leading development and ongoing system stewardship. The program supported preparation of monthly management accounts for Microgenetics, monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Microgenetics, Corsham Science and the two holding companies, and provided project accounting support and technical accounting guidance to finance leads across the Group. Governance and process changes were instituted to ensure consistent month end close and intercompany controls, including monthly intercompany reconciliations and dividend accounting controls, and formal liaison processes with the Group auditors for statutory audit matters. The Microsoft Dynamics NAV configuration was used to enforce standardized reconciliation workflows and to maintain audit trails required for statutory accounts and external audit queries. The implementation was explicitly aimed at improving financial control and the efficiency of transaction processing for customer billing and inventory management, while enabling routine delivery of daily and weekly cash and working capital reports to the Executive and supporting the production of annual budgets and half year reforecasts for the Group entities named above.
