| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA - Production Planning (PP) | Advanced Planning and Scheduling | SCM | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Batu Kawan implemented SAP S/4 HANA - Production Planning (PP) to strengthen production planning and scheduling capabilities under the Advanced Planning and Scheduling category. The deployment centered on SAP S/4 HANA runtime with the Production Planning module as the primary application for plan-to-produce workflows supporting materials planning, production order management, and scheduling for manufacturing operations.
Implementation work focused on core PP functional modules and configuration typical for Advanced Planning and Scheduling, including material requirements planning, production order processing, bill of materials and routing maintenance, capacity planning and finite scheduling, and shop floor integration for execution handoffs. The SAP S/4 HANA - Production Planning (PP) instance was configured to support master data governance and production planning logic alongside standard SAP PP transaction sets and authorization roles.
Integrations leveraged existing SAP functional boundaries, explicitly linking PP with finance and controlling, procurement and inventory management, and order-to-cash flows, reflecting cross-functional coupling with FI/CO, MM and SD. The program referenced established interface practices used within the group, and scope included logistics, production planning, procurement, sales and finance process touchpoints to synchronize supply, demand and costing information across operations.
Governance and rollout followed formal SAP delivery practices, drawing on blueprint creation, functional specifications and FRICEW artifacts, system integration test and user acceptance test cycles, and end user training to operationalize PP configuration. Controls and compliance considerations were incorporated, using segregation of duties matrices and project-level controls that mirror prior group SAP program governance for financial and operational areas.
