IBM Legacy IBM AS/400 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2023 2023
In 2023, Bemis Manufacturing implemented IBM AS/400 as an ERP Financial application to support Thermoset Operations Support workflows and plant-level HR data processes. The IBM AS/400 deployment is positioned to centralize timekeeping and production data capture across plant operations while serving as the transactional system for employee-related records. Configuration work focused on data entry capabilities for timecards, attendance, production and process edits, and formal record keeping such as material safety data sheets and status notification forms. Functional capabilities implemented include time and attendance intake, production transaction entry, workers compensation detail capture, light duty and return to work slip tracking, and case data fields used for FMLA and S&A issue coordination. Operational coverage spans plant operations and the HR interface, with explicit workflows to partner with HR on FMLA and S&A issues and to manage the no call no show process in coordination with plant leadership. The IBM AS/400 is used to enter employee detail including workers compensation claims and doctor documentation, supporting bargaining unit transaction processing and on-site operational records. Governance and operational control were organized around plant-level Thermoset Operations Support responsibilities, including providing direction and support to bargaining unit employees and maintaining attendance and accident reporting records in the AS/400. The team also compiled content and prepped materials for Plant B TV network communications, linking operational communications with the ERP Financial record set.
