The deployment targeted engineering governance for the Rail Technology Program in Perth, extending lifecycle control into completion and commissioning workflows. The implementation focused on core capabilities for requirement management, configuration and change management, defect and failure management, and asset management, with explicit support for Completion and Commissioning Management System activities. IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation was configured to support requirement baselining, traceability across artifacts, and structured change request workflows consistent with Application Lifecycle Management practices. Integrations were established with IBM Rational Team Concert, IBM Synergy, and IBM Maximo to provide end to end traceability between requirements, configuration items, development workstreams, and asset records. Operational coverage included engineering teams, Work Package Leaders, contractors and suppliers working on the BHP RTP project, and extended to design reviews and gate reviews conducted on site in Perth. Governance and process responsibilities were organized around an Engineering Governance and Performance Manager role, which led engineering governance processes, monitored budget and resource allocations, oversaw engineering deliverables, planned and executed change, configuration, requirement and asset management activities, governed defect and failure management, supported Manufacturer�s Data Report compliance, managed CCMS coordination, and coordinated design and gate review outcomes according to Alstom processes and standards. | |
