In 2015 Bien Dong Petroleum implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial system to centralize budgeting, procurement, invoicing and financial control across onshore and offshore operations. The deployment positioned Infor SunSystems to serve core finance and procurement business functions while interfacing with the companys enterprise asset management layer.
The implementation architecture combined Infor SunSystems with an IBM Maximo Asset Management implementation, supported on IBM System x3650 M4 servers. Three onshore servers were dedicated to the Oracle database, the application tier and a development and testing environment, a fourth server hosted the MaxiSun interface that links Maximo and the Sun financial system, and a fifth server ran offshore database and application instances to support offshore facilities.
Integrations included a MaxiSun interface between Maximo and Infor SunSystems, Oracle Database support for transactional processing, and data synchronization between onshore and offshore server instances to maintain operational continuity across the head office in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vung Tau supply base and offshore sites. IBM supplied the server and Maximo software components, Avenue Business Solutions provided the MaxiSun integration, implementation, training and short term post go live support, and the combined stack supported inventory, maintenance-linked procurement and invoicing workflows.
Governance and rollout incorporated role based training for core teams, administrators and end users, plus three months of post implementation support delivered by the implementation partner. Documented outcomes in the program included centralized procurement, enhanced budget control, improved maintenance lifecycle visibility and optimized vendor, inventory and equipment resource management, with better quality data available for managerial analysis and decision making.
