| UKG | Legacy | UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper (ex Kronos Workforce Timekeeper) | Time and Attendance | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, Birch Family Services implemented UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper (ex Kronos Workforce Timekeeper) within the Time and Attendance category to centralize time capture and payroll preparation across its residential sites and program locations. The deployment supported both biweekly and semimonthly payroll cadences and established a consistent process for timesheet creation, review, and submission to payroll.
The UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper implementation included core time and attendance workflows, timesheet generation, monitoring of staff timecards for accuracy, and handling of exceptions through manual checks and adjustments. Configuration work covered employee payroll profiles to record direct deposit and tax filing changes, entry of garnishments and liens, and support for rate and status changes coordinated with HR personnel.
Integrations and operational workflows were explicit and transaction oriented, hours were imported into the timekeeper and validated, batches were created and validated for both biweekly and semimonthly payroll, and payroll artifacts were produced for downstream payment. The implementation produced checks, advices, ACH files and a tax file released to Ceridian, and produced Positive files sent to Ceridian and the bank, while G/L reports and payroll transfer documentation were created for the accounting department.
Operational governance and cross functional coordination were formalized around payroll cycles, with payroll staff maintaining professional relationships with assistant administrators, principals and resident managers and gathering Federal Head Start Program pay period data for reporting. The program included supervision of temporary staff and interns, conversion support from semimonthly to biweekly payroll cadence, and routine collaboration with HR to reconcile status, rate and benefit changes within UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper.
