| Certinia | Legacy | Certinia PSA (ex FinancialForce PSA) | Professional Services Automation | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Blue Yonder implemented Certinia PSA (ex FinancialForce PSA) as a core Professional Services Automation platform, deploying the application to support an enterprise SaaS centric business model and end to end closed loop business process management that extends from product ideation through revenue recognition in the general ledger. The Certinia PSA implementation was positioned as a component of a broader application portfolio selected to unify customer facing and back office processes under a cloud and hybrid architecture.
The deployment emphasized standard Professional Services Automation capabilities, including project accounting and revenue recognition workflows, resource and capacity management, time and expense capture, and project billing configuration to align professional services delivery with financial close processes. Certinia PSA was configured to feed project revenue and billing transactions into the corporate GL, supporting automated revenue recognition and invoicing sequences consistent with enterprise financial controls.
Architecturally the Certinia PSA deployment was delivered as a SaaS instance integrated through an Applications Integration Platform on Azure, reflecting Blue Yonders cloud and hybrid strategy. Integrations explicitly included Salesforce for Sales, Services and CPQ orchestration and Workday Financials for ERP and GL consolidation, enabling bidirectional data flows between project delivery, sales bookings and finance.
Operational scope covered cross functional teams including sales, services delivery, finance and product organizations, with rollout governed by enterprise application standards managed by the Vice President of Business Applications. Governance and process controls were extended to include data integrity, security and access management, disaster recovery, business continuity and SOX compliance, and the Certinia PSA deployment formed part of a portfolio effort that reduced overall IT cost structures, including reported vendor pricing reductions and infrastructure savings across the enterprise.
