In 2017, Boll & Branch implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial platform, migrating from Intuit QuickBooks Online to support rapid ecommerce growth and more sophisticated accounting and inventory controls. The implementation addressed the companys need for robust inventory tracking, cost tracking, financial accounting and payroll, and included integration with its third party logistics provider to centralize operational data in Oracle NetSuite ERP.
Boll & Branch deployed Nolan Business Solutions Advanced Bank Reconciliation as a NetSuite add on to resolve complex bank deposit matching for PayPal and Shopify. The implementation took four to six weeks, during which Nolan consultants created templates and rules to generate journal entries and automate matching logic. The operational reconciliation workflow became a three step process, extract general ledger transactions from NetSuite, load those transactions into Nolan, and import bank statements for rule based automatic matching.
Integrations in scope included daily deposit feeds from PayPal and Shopify, corporate bank statements, and NetSuite general ledger and inventory records, enabling finance to reconcile lump sum deposits to individual sales transactions. The solution provided end to end visibility across customer transactions and inventory, and supported finance and accounting operations responsible for month end and daily cash management.
Governance and process changes centered on template driven journal creation and rule management, with Nolan initially configuring templates and Boll & Branch taking on subsequent modifications after a banking platform change. Outcomes explicitly reported include the ability to identify each of the hundreds of thousands of transactions that comprise daily deposits, reconcile every transaction to the penny, and reduce standard reconciliation time by approximately half, enabling instant complex bank reconciliations that were not possible prior to the Oracle NetSuite ERP and Nolan Business Solutions deployment.
