Cornerstone OnDemand Legacy Cornerstone Recruiting Suite Recruiting, Applicant Tracking System HCM n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Boston College implemented Cornerstone Recruiting Suite as its Recruiting,Applicant Tracking System to address high applicant volumes and a cumbersome prior applicant workflow. The private Jesuit institution, facing 150 to 175 applications per posting, pursued a solution to make it easier for hiring managers to sort resumes, highlight credentials and identify experienced candidates while improving the applicant experience that had been prone to timeouts under the prior platform. The implementation included Cornerstone Recruiting Suite alongside Cornerstone Learning and Onboarding modules, aligning recruiting workflows with candidate onboarding and learning pathways. Configuration emphasized applicant tracking workflows, resume sorting and credential flagging capabilities, and manager-facing self-service hiring workflows, reflecting requirements expressed by the employment team to streamline screening and accelerate decisioning. Operational coverage centered on the employment department, hiring managers across academic and administrative units, and external applicants to the Chestnut Hill campus. The project was driven by new institutional leadership and a formal vendor evaluation process that included presentations and reference checks from peer higher education institutions, which informed selection of Cornerstone Recruiting Suite. Governance and rollout were organized through stakeholder town meetings and manager-focused enablement, with administrators reporting rapid user onboarding and ease of use for both managers and applicants. Boston College stakeholders stated that Cornerstone Recruiting Suite made the application process easier to use and reduced managerial complexity in screening, supporting a coordinated recruiting, onboarding and learning workflow across campus HR functions.
