ReadSpeaker Holding Legacy ReadSpeaker Text to Speech Natural Language Processing AI-Powered Application n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Brotherhood of St. Laurence implemented ReadSpeaker Text to Speech on their website. ReadSpeaker Text to Speech is deployed to provide web-based speech synthesis and is classified under the Natural Language Processing category, delivering on-page audio rendering of published content to support accessibility and public content consumption across browsers and devices. The implementation consists of a client-facing website integration, typically realized through an embedded ReadSpeaker Text to Speech player and page-level controls that tie into the organization’s web publishing outputs. Integrations are constrained to the public website experience, using standard web delivery mechanisms such as a JavaScript embed and streaming synthesis to render HTML content and downloadable documents on demand. Governance focused on aligning editorial update processes and accessibility policy so published pages consistently expose ReadSpeaker controls and alternative content flows, impacting digital communications, web publishing, and accessibility functions within the organization.
