Oracle Legacy Oracle PeopleSoft ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, California Water Service Company implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP to consolidate finance and human resources processing across the organization. The deployment targeted core PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 and PeopleSoft HR 9.0 running on PeopleTools 8.55 and 8.49, establishing Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as the company ERP Financial platform for accounting, payroll, and HR administration. Configuration and application lifecycle work included migrating customizations through Non Production and Production environments, scheduled PeopleSoft patch installations and tax updates, and participation in a business critical performance upgrade project for Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing CC&B. Middleware and application server engineering covered WebLogic deployments, Tuxedo administration, log analysis and patching, while routine automation focused on environment refreshes and monthly system maintenance tasks with automated PagerDuty alerting. Database and integration operations supported both Oracle RAC 12c and Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and 2016, with responsibilities that included recovery, refreshes, performance tuning using AWR and SQL profiling, pinning execution plans, and OEM agent configuration. Integration capabilities were delivered via SOA and MuleSoft channels, and the DBA team supported adjacent systems such as Geographic Information System GIS, SharePoint, PowerPlant and the Customer Outreach Portal, aligning Oracle PeopleSoft ERP with upstream and downstream operational systems. Governance and operational controls included managing incidents and change requests through Cherwell, participation in Change Control Board meetings and monthly development team reviews, engagement in the SOX audit control process, and involvement in disaster recovery projects and testing. Support operations were staffed with alternating week on call rotations to provide 24/7 support and to implement best practices for application design and system stability.

Sterling Talent Solutions Legacy Sterling Background Check BackGround Screening HCM n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, California Water Service Company deployed Sterling Background Check to provide BackGround Screening capabilities within corporate HR hiring and onboarding operations. The deployment centered on automating pre-employment background checks, drug screening, and pre-employment testing to support recruiting activities managed by HR administrators in San Jose and company-wide hiring processes. Sterling Background Check was used in operational workflows that linked candidate screening to applicant tracking and workforce systems, with HR staff coordinating screenings alongside Taleo, PeopleSoft, and Workday activities. Functional use cases implemented included initiation and tracking of background and drug screens, documentation for DMV record preparation, and routing screening outcomes into onboarding and payroll change processes. Governance for the implementation was organized through HR hiring and compliance processes, with HR administrators responsible for scheduling interviews, sending employees for screens, processing new hire I-9 forms, and completing onboarding both in person and by phone. The system supported routine administrative tasks such as preparing offer letters, creating promotion announcements, and producing monthly reports for new hires and DMV compliance, embedding BackGround Screening into the companys hiring-to-payroll workflow.

IBM Legacy IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 California Water Service Company implemented IBM Maximo as part of an Enterprise Asset Management initiative to consolidate asset, work order, and field maintenance capabilities. The IBM Maximo deployment was positioned to support field services management, meter read orchestration, payments and billing interfaces, and GIS-driven asset visibility across projects identified as FSM, KMR, PBS, HALO, CSNM and CSWAS. The implementation configured IBM Maximo to provide core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities including work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, and asset lifecycle tracking, integrated into mobile app workflows and customer facing portals. IBM Maximo was linked into Mulesoft driven API patterns and used the IBM Maximo connector referenced in integration designs to enable service oriented exchange of asset and work order data with other systems. Architecturally the program used a hybrid Mulesoft integration layer running Mule ESB 3.8.5 and Anypoint Platform components, operating in on prem and CloudHub environments on AWS, with packaging and releases managed across DEV, QA and PROD via Maven, Jenkins and Nexus. Integrations were explicitly implemented with Oracle CC&B, RMB, PeopleSoft, SAP, Salesforce, enterprise ERP systems and WorkDay, and relied on Oracle databases and Oracle WebLogic for backend services and transaction handling. Governance emphasized API lifecycle management, RAML based API design, security with SSO and OAuth, SLA definitions, message format and schema governance, and operational monitoring using Splunk and Anypoint management tooling. Integration patterns applied included synchronous flows, queued asynchronous flows, scatter gather and batch scopes, DataWeave transformations, caching to reduce payload latency, error handling frameworks and MUnit testing as part of release gates. The integration work delivered explicit performance improvements noted in project records, with Mulesoft API orchestration changes producing three to twenty two times faster response times and recognition with an internal MVP award in March 2019, and prior SOA optimizations documented as improving overall service performance by 2.6 times through dehydration suppression, query tuning and process consolidation. Ongoing responsibilities included production support, WebLogic tuning, and iterative API lifecycle management to sustain IBM Maximo driven Enterprise Asset Management operations.
