SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Compensation Management HCM n/a 2016 2016
In 2016 Canada Life implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a multi-million-dollar, multi-year program targeting Human Resources and Canadian Operations. The deployment of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was executed within a broader SAP SuccessFactors suite program and aligned to Compensation Management objectives for pay design and administration. The program delivered multiple SAP SuccessFactors modules, including Performance and Goal Management (PMGM), Learning Management System (LMS), and the Compensation module, and included configuration of a new Career Streams & Compensation Framework. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was configured to support compensation cycles, merit and variable pay structures, and linkage to performance and learning records maintained in the PMGM and LMS modules. Deployment structure emphasized a suite-based architecture between the SuccessFactors modules, with Employee Central identified as the core HR project that is ready to be implemented to provide authoritative employee records. Operational coverage focused on Human Resources and Canadian Operations, with functional workflows touching compensation administration, performance calibration, career stream alignment, and learning assignments. Governance was organized as a multi-stream program with multiple internal and external stakeholders contributing to design, configuration, and rollout. The implementation approach used phased module rollouts and coordinated governance across streams to align the Compensation Management application with the new Career Streams & Compensation Framework and the forthcoming Employee Central core HR implementation.

FIS Global Legacy FIS SunGard iWorks Insurance ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2005 2005
In 2005, Canada Life implemented FIS SunGard iWorks as its Insurance ERP to consolidate core finance and insurance accounting processes. Canada Life FIS SunGard iWorks Insurance ERP supports corporate finance, policy administration, billing and claims accounting functions and was deployed to align accounting and regulatory reporting across the insurer. The implementation focused on modules and configuration typical for an Insurance ERP, including ledgers for general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, premium billing interfaces, claims accounting capabilities, reinsurance accounting workflows, and financial reporting frameworks. Configuration work emphasized chart of accounts alignment, consolidation across business units, role based access control, and audit trail instrumentation to meet insurance regulatory and audit requirements. Deployment followed an on premise architectural model consistent with enterprise implementations of the period, using batch and message based integration patterns to connect upstream policy administration and billing processes, downstream general ledger consolidation, bank and payment interfaces, and corporate reporting data stores. Governance was established around centralized month end close procedures, reconciliations between policy and financial systems, and controlled rollout by module and business function to minimize operational disruption.
