ECi Software Solutions Legacy ECI Deacom ERP Manufacturing ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2015 2016
In 2015, Cavco Industries implemented ECI Deacom ERP as its Manufacturing ERP platform to centralize cost accounting and production planning across its network of facilities. The initial engagement was scoped as a complex cost accounting change project and was staffed by a 47 person Cavco project team reporting to the chief financial officer, with stakeholders that included senior officers, operations management, support staff, and corporate IT. The ECI Deacom ERP deployment prioritized cost accounting configuration, system generated bills of material, pricing decision support, inventory ledger workflows, forecasting, and enterprise reporting capabilities. Cavco added formal cost accounting roles at 11 facilities, hiring two specialists, training 11 staff, and providing ongoing support to 18 users to operationalize configured modules and standardized cost structures. The project collaborated with corporate IT on a proof of concept and the rollout of an enterprise report system ERS, authoring reports to measure financial, inventory management, and cost accounting performance and sharing analytics across teams. Operational coverage included the corporate office and satellite manufacturing facilities, aligning finance and operations workflows and instrumenting data feeds for consolidated reporting and decision support. Governance included a comprehensive project initiation document that detailed business cases, communications, workflows, issues, key performance indicators, and a project plan, supplemented by issue management, monthly quality checks, change management, resource allocation, and formal stakeholder engagement. Outcomes explicitly recorded by the team include a 45% increase in unit production through system generated bills of material, improved inventory management, more accurate forecasting, enhanced pricing decision making, and strengthened profitability.
