In 2016, C&F Bank implemented Fiserv Premier Bank Platform to centralize transaction processing and accounting workflows for a 350 employee community bank. The deployment established a Core Banking operational backbone that consolidated daily wire processing, check reconciliation, account posting, and accounting ledger workflows under a single platform.
Fiserv Premier Bank Platform was configured to support wire operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashier's check reconciliation, mortgage account posting, and general ledger reconciliation workflows. Configuration emphasized operational controls such as signature authorization limits, call-back verification for non in person wire requests, and daily report generation to support reconciliations and exceptions handling.
The implementation integrated with external and internal reporting sources used by the bank, including daily extracts and comparisons from WireXchange, reconciliations using reports pulled from the Federal Reserve website, and check reconciliation information surfaced through Fiserv Navigator. Operational handoffs were reflected in routing to Electronic Solutions and C&F Mortgage teams, and combined reporting was distributed to the Assistant Controller, Controller, and Financial Reporting accountant for reconciliation.
Governance and process changes were formalized through the bank training department, with the Accounting department designating a primary contact for updates to formalized training procedures. Day to day operations codified responsibilities for the Wire Desk and Accounting Admin roles, including daily reconciliations of Cashiers' Check accounts, interest check accounts, OREO, prepaid and accrual balances, fixed assets, and fee allocation tracking, with provisions for primary and back up coverage.
