In 2018, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of its SAP SuccessFactors HCM footprint to address enterprise Compensation Management needs across the organization. The deployment was led by an inhouse senior analyst who partnered with HR stakeholders to gather requirements and configure the application to support centralized compensation planning for the health system that operates three hospitals and 27 neighborhood locations and manages more than 850,000 patient visits annually. The implementation encompassed SAP SuccessFactors Compensation plus adjacent SAP SuccessFactors modules including Performance & Goals, Succession Management, 360 Administration, Career Development Planning, Calibration, and the SuccessFactors Platform. Configuration work focused on standard Compensation Management capabilities, including design of compensation plans and cycles, pay component and allowance structures, eligibility and population rules, merit and variable pay modeling, and calibration session administration within the Compensation module. Operational integrations were concentrated inside the SuccessFactors suite, enabling performance ratings and goal outcomes from Performance & Goals to feed compensation decision workflows, and allowing succession and career development data to inform pay and promotion eligibility. The implementation supported HR compensation planning, calibration workflows, and role based approval chains, with configuration of security, approval routing, and administrative controls on the SuccessFactors Platform. Governance and rollout were organized around HR stakeholder collaboration, requirements workshops, and ongoing administration by the Sr. Analyst role who led configuration and module administration. Change activities prioritized establishing compensation governance, defining approval workflows, and operationalizing calibration and cycle administration to align Compensation Management with broader HR performance and talent processes.
