About the Customer

CHRISTUS Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit system made up of more than 600 centers, including long-term care facilities, community hospitals, walk-in clinics, and health ministries. We are a community 45,000 strong, with over 15,000 physicians providing individualized care.

Scope and Challenges

As one of the largest Catholic health systems in the U.S., CHRISTUS Health needed a single, enterprise-wide workforce management solution that would allow them to efficiently monitor timekeeping and productivity while identifying potential improvements in labor savings. Providing high-quality clinical care was difficult with no way to systematically track labor costs and productivity, as CHRISTUS Health had numerous disparate systems in place for time and attendance between more than 33,000 people in over 40 hospitals.

CHRISTUS Health needed a solution that could: standardize workload statistics to evaluate performance in hospital departments, provide regional and departmental productivity data, consolidate 13 time and labor systems into one, automate timekeeping and attendance methods to deliver better accuracy and labor savings.

Additionally, CHRISTUS Health transformed their ERP Legacy Applications by selecting Infor CloudSuite Healthcare. A comprehensive healthcare-specific solution, Infor CloudSuite Healthcare will help automate core processes in financial, human capital, and supply chain management, as well as provide clinical integration to enable CHRISTUS to deliver even greater patient care and satisfaction.

Outcome and Implications

With powerful scheduling, timekeeping, and analytics tools from Kronos, CHRISTUS Health was able to gain greater insight into their complex operations with complete continuity from site to site. Within one year of implementation, CHRISTUS Health realized substantial savings in labor-related costs, as well as improved oversight and management of productivity. Getting the 33,000-person organization up and running with a new system proved to be a seamless process with Kronos, consolidating 13 different time and labor systems into one. The standardization of statistics has allowed senior leadership to look at performance with a functionality that was not possible before.

Infor CloudSuite Healthcare will modernize an IT foundation comprised of disparate systems that constrain the organization's ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions, including CHRISTUS' considerable growth. As a cloud-based solution, it provides critical business continuity, and massive computing power to manage the organization's vast network of health ministries across the Americas.

“We are seeing significant overall improvements in our labor costs as a result of the combined implementation of Kronos Workforce Central and Visionware.” Said - Kim Trahan, Senior Project Manager, Kronos.

"While our mission and values are rooted deep in tradition, CHRISTUS always has an eye toward the future; we constantly strive for innovation, and seek new ways to deliver services to our patients and communities. Transforming our organization for the digital era is a significant undertaking, but with Infor CloudSuite Healthcare as the backbone of our IT infrastructure, CHRISTUS will not only reap short-term benefits such as increased efficiency and reduced operating costs, but also set the foundation for the future, utilizing insights and analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to improve patient services and outcomes." Said - George Conklin, CHRISTUS Health's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

"Digital technologies are having an impact on every industry sector, but perhaps none more than healthcare. CHRISTUS is a visionary organization with an ingenious leadership team; the digital foundation that Infor CloudSuite Healthcare provides will help enable their inspired vision for the future of healthcare to become a reality." Said - Pam Murphy, Chief Operating Officer, Infor.
