In 2014, CIMB Group implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its core ERP Financial application to support finance and e-procurement processes across the bank. The implementation targeted e-procurement workflows to improve spend visibility and control, enabling matching of purchases with purchase orders, receipts and job tickets and improving global accessibility of tenders.
The technical environment was based on Oracle Applications R12 with Oracle 10g, Forms and Reports 10g, and PL/SQL development. Functional coverage focused on Accounts Payable and General Ledger modules, with configuration work including value sets, concurrent programs, and registered PL/SQL procedures and functions aligned to ERP Financial requirements.
Development work delivered a mix of inbound and outbound interfaces, including supplier interfaces, invoice creation interfaces, and chart of accounts outbound programs for AP and GL. Key engineering tasks included supplier conversion programs, supplier information address and bank update interfaces, GL exchange rate handling, validation of staging data prior to insertion into Oracle base or interface tables, and development of interface programs to support operational data flows.
Reporting and integration work used BI Publisher and XML Publisher to customize General Ledger reports, produce General Ledger Journal reports with tax detail, and generate vendor detail reports. The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation was integrated with internal MyBiz systems to orchestrate supplier, invoice and COA data flows, and it was scoped to support finance and procurement business functions in line with stated e-procurement benefits.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cloud HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, CIMB Group implemented Oracle Cloud HCM as its Core HR platform. The deployment was positioned to centralize employee master records and core human resources processes, and it was used by HR analytics teams based in Kuala Lumpur for operational reporting and workforce analytics.
The Oracle Cloud HCM implementation supported standard Core HR capabilities including employee data management, job requisition lifecycle tracking, contingent worker data capture, and HR reporting and analytics. Configuration and data extraction workflows were established to enable ad hoc reporting, scheduled reports, and consolidated HR dashboards, with Oracle Cloud HCM serving as the authoritative staff data source.
Operational processes combined Oracle Cloud HCM extractions with spreadsheet based data cleaning and validation. Analysts accessed Oracle Cloud HCM to extract staff data and job requisition data, performed data cleaning to improve dataset integrity, and used Microsoft Excel for report preparation and Microsoft PowerPoint to consolidate updates for monthly management meetings. Ad hoc analysis and reporting to HR leadership were part of the operational cadence.
Governance and rollout details emphasized data validation and reporting discipline within the HR analytics function. Work completed included cleaning and validating existing spreadsheets to support accurate analysis, updating over 50 data entries in reports, and preparing named reports such as Monthly Report on Labour Market Statistics, Contingent Worker Report, Internal Job Offer Report, Consumer Hiring Report and Protégé New Joiner Report, which improved the fidelity of HR reporting and management reviews.

| IBM | Legacy | IBM BPM Standard | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, CIMB Group implemented IBM BPM Standard as a Business Process Management platform to standardize process orchestration across multiple business units including Investment Banking, with primary development activity based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The deployment was positioned to support workflow automation and process orchestration workstreams under a centralized process program.
The implementation included IBM BPM Standard version migration activities, specifically upgrading environments from 7.5 and 8.5 to 8.6, and incorporated Robotic Process Automation patterns alongside workflow automation capabilities. Functional modules and capabilities implemented include COMET Business Process Automation for investment banking processes, smart form orchestration using Adobe LiveCycle for intelligent form filling, and OCR based document capture using Abbyy and IBM Captive to drive paperless processing.
Integration and operational mechanics emphasized interactive document capture and service validation, scanners were used to read PDF417 two dimensional barcodes and convert them to text to auto populate web based forms, and SOAP based interfaces were exercised with SoapUI as part of service testing and integration assurance. The solution design followed TOGAF principles and used ArchiMate for enterprise architecture artifacts, aligning BPM process models with an enterprise architecture view.
Governance and rollout were led by solutions architects who designed process models, automation pipelines, and KPI capture mechanisms to instrument hand to hand processes for operational visibility. Implementation work included building a staff KPI capture solution and dashboards to provide top management visibility, and achieving paperless workflows through OCR and form automation as stated in program notes.
