Workday Legacy Workday Financial Management ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, CityMD implemented Workday Financial Management as its ERP Financial system. The deployment consolidated core financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting within Workday Financial Management to standardize accounting, month end close, and transactional workflows across the organization. After the 2019 merger that formed Summit Health, the combined organization expanded its Workday footprint and unified CityMD’s Workday Financial Management with Workday HCM and Workday Supply Chain Management under a single tenant, creating a common system of record for finance and human capital processes. That alignment supported cross functional processes such as payroll accounting, vendor invoice processing, and centralized financial reporting across multiple legal entities. Operationally, the unified Workday tenant was leveraged to accelerate M&A activity, allowing the organization to complete four acquisitions and integrate more than 2,000 team members in 150 locations within a 12 month period. When an external time tracking provider experienced an outage the company deployed Workday Time and Attendance in under six weeks to preserve payroll continuity and keep integration timelines on track. Governance moved toward centralized tenant management and standardized financial configurations to support multi entity consolidation and acquisition driven growth, with enterprise teams coordinating security domains, tenant configuration, and staged functional rollouts. CityMD Workday Financial Management, implemented in 2017, therefore served as the ERP Financial foundation for broader finance and operational orchestration across the merged Summit Health organization.

STARLIMS Legacy Starlims Abbott eScreen BackGround Screening HCM n/a 2017 2017
CityMD (part of VillageMD) selected and deployed Starlims Abbott eScreen in 2017 to replace a legacy background screening system, implementing the application as its primary BackGround Screening solution for occupational medicine at CityMD Urgent Care in New York. The deployment centered on operationalizing eScreen for processing clinical specimens used in workplace drug testing workflows. Implementation activities emphasized training and operational readiness: between 2016 and 2020 clinical trainers educated medical assistants and clinical managers on urine drug screening (UDS), breath alcohol testing (BAT), phlebotomy specimen handling, respirator fit testing, and point-of-care testing while teaching staff to use eScreen for specimen processing. The program trained and evaluated more than 800 staff and ran error remediation classes for medical assistants and clinical managers, which reduced lab processing errors for drug screenings. No SI/VAR was engaged for the engagement (n/a).

eClinicalWorks Legacy eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR Electronic Health Record ERP Services and Operations n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, CityMD, part of VillageMD, deployed eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR as its core Electronic Health Record platform across its urgent care network to support rapid patient growth and standardized documentation. The deployment combined eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR with eClinicalWorks Practice Management capabilities and a customized Kiosk check-in experience, with the initial pilot conducted at the Murray Hill clinic before broader rollout to more than 60 locations. The implementation emphasized clinical documentation, charting workflows, and care coordination functionality within the eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR, complemented by a Kiosk module customized for urgent care intake. Configuration focused on streamlining front desk and PCR workflows, supporting scribes and providers for faster transitions between chart sections, and improving data capture accuracy including direct scanning into the patient chart. Integrations were implemented between the Kiosk check-in layer and the eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR and Practice Management components so that patient-entered data populated charts and scheduling records. Operational coverage included front desk operations, patient care representatives, medical assistants, providers, care coordination teams responsible for lab and imaging follow-up, and clinic management teams across the CityMD network. Governance and rollout used a site-level pilot and iterative design thinking to refine the Kiosk experience, monitoring adoption by new and established patients, adjusting signage and workflow, and then scaling the configuration across locations. Adoption metrics from the pilot period informed user training and operational rules, with roughly 55 percent patient adoption reported early in deployment and improvements in email capture and transcription error reduction. Outcomes reported in the implementation included reduced wait times by approximately 10 percent, an observed decrease from about 38 minutes to roughly 34 to 35 minutes in average wait at a busy clinic, and estimated annual staff time savings at one midtown New York City location of about 60 days and approximately 1,440 hours per year. CityMD also reported improved workflows, increased patient flows, and strengthened after-care coordination enabled through the eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR.
