| Komax | Legacy | Komax 4WIRE CAO | Manufacturing Execution System | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Cobo Montecchio Emilia implemented Komax 4WIRE CAO, a Manufacturing Execution System, to support harness production and process engineering workflows in Italy. The deployment targeted the Montecchio Emilia production site and production engineering teams, focusing on cutting and assembly sequencing operations, with Komax 4WIRE CAO provisioned as the shop floor execution layer for wire harness manufacturing and process data capture.
Functional usage emphasized cutting-phase optimization, production sequencing, and traceability, reflecting the 4WIRE CAO manufacturing execution scope. Configurations included standard Manufacturing Execution System capabilities such as work order orchestration, real-time process control for cutting operations, and serialized part traceability to support production and quality workflows. The Komax 4WIRE CAO implementation centralized process engineering inputs and machine-level parameters to standardize harness production steps.
Operational coverage was the harness production lines and associated process engineering staff, with the Manufacturing Execution System handling sequencing, cut-to-length control, and traceability records on the shop floor. The solution was used for cutting-phase optimization, production sequencing, and traceability, and Komax 4WIRE CAO provided the process engineering team with structured production data for validation and troubleshooting.
Rollout required reengineering of shop floor procedures to align cutting and sequencing steps with MES workflows, and governance changes to manage traceability records and production orders. Training and procedural updates enabled production and process engineering teams to operate against Komax 4WIRE CAO controlled processes.
