During the pilot phase Competec Logistik executed resource planning and live operation scenarios across several organizational units, and after a few hours of online training operational managers were able to independently configure optimization strategies. Sheepblue was configured with prioritized rules and optimization strategies to drive automated schedule generation, and operational scheduling was validated in live runs prior to broader use. Sheepblue functionality implemented at Competec Logistik included priority based matching of shift needs to available employees by qualification, automated roster generation, enforcement of rest periods and advance roster forecasting for multiple months. The system also supported coordinated vacation planning and operational flexibility to switch between a 5 day and a 6 day week while maintaining coverage requirements. Operational coverage focused on workforce planning and rostering for Competec Logistik AG across its logistics sites and organizational units, replacing manual roster creation processes that relied on spreadsheets. Business functions directly impacted included logistics operations, workforce management and vacation coordination, improving visibility into demand driven staffing and helping identify bottlenecks sooner. Governance shifted toward manager led configuration and scheduling, with responsibility for optimization strategy tuning residing with local managers after training.
