In 2018 Constellium USA provided HR and benefits data files to BenefitFocus to build Benefitfocus Benefitplace for its Constellium Automotive business unit, initiating a Benefits Administration implementation. The project team executed testing of various enrollment scenarios prior to rolling the system out to employees during the 2019 open enrollment season.
Deployment work centered on configuring enrollment workflows, employee eligibility rules, plan configuration and administrator consoles consistent with Benefits Administration platforms. Data file ingestion was used to populate employee demographics, benefit elections and coverage tiers, enabling configuration of pay period deductions, effective dates and standard benefits reporting. Testing covered scripted enrollment scenarios to validate election changes, coverage transitions and system calculation logic.
Operational coverage targeted Constellium Automotive HR and benefits teams and the employee population included in the 2019 open enrollment. In 2016 Constellium Automotive converted payroll from Ceridian HR/Payroll Latitude to ADP Workforce Now and converted time and attendance from Kronos Workforce Central to ADP eTime, establishing the payroll and time platforms in place during the Benefitfocus Benefitplace implementation. Governance emphasized staged testing and scenario-based validation prior to employee rollout.

In 2019, Constellium USA deployed Plex ERP as its Manufacturing ERP to support an enterprise ERP suite serving roughly 3,000 end users across global aluminum production operations. The deployment covered a multi-site footprint with Resident Analysts operating across eight manufacturing facilities in Europe, Asia, and North America, and it was managed by a senior ERP manager responsible for troubleshooting, training, and user acceptance testing activities.
Plex ERP was configured to support core functional modules including Materials Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Environmental Health and Safety. Implementation work emphasized production planning and forecasting, a subcontract process, preventative maintenance scheduling for over 200 work centers, MRO parts management, and an equipment hierarchy application that links asset, functional assembly, and component levels.
Operational execution included formal user acceptance testing and conference room pilots with stakeholders from Materials Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Environmental Health and Safety. Technical requirements were gathered and relayed to a third party technology consultant for process improvement initiatives, while ticket prioritization and resolution were governed by service level agreements handled by the onshore resident analyst team.
Governance incorporated structured change control, UAT sign off, and a rollout model that used resident analysts to implement system enhancements and resolve technical issues across sites. The program adapted to hybrid in person and remote work during the COVID 19 pandemic, and ongoing governance included SLA driven ticket management and cross functional stakeholder engagement to close performance gaps.
Explicit outcomes stated by Constellium include increased subcontract visibility that enabled inventory accuracy of 97 percent, a revamped production planning scheduling method that improved production efficiency by 95 percent and increased inventory turns by 20 times, and an accounting visualization tool that increased customer billing accuracy by 25 percent. The Plex ERP implementation also produced improved visibility into MRO inventories and a preventative maintenance regimen for over 200 work centers.
