In 2017, Core & Main implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial platform, deploying the solution to support a new division and to extend financial management capabilities. Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured with core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and revenue management, and was used to automate order to cash and procure to pay workflows consistent with ERP Financial implementations. The project incorporated SuiteApps, custom scripting and ongoing support to align the application with distribution-specific transaction flows and to automate routine processes.
Operational coverage included onboarding two acquisitions with multiple locations onto Core & Main platforms, and supporting cross functional business functions such as finance, accounting, operations and customer service. The implementation emphasized multi entity processing and integration readiness to consolidate financial reporting and operational transactions across business units.
Governance was centralized under the Director of ERP reporting to the CIO, who owned ERP software, platform support and M&A activities, and who expanded the ERP support structure to provide enhanced service. As an explicitly stated outcome, restructuring system activities increased system availability by over 10 percent, and Oracle NetSuite ERP now functions as a core element of Core & Main's ERP Financial architecture.
