| SAP | Legacy | SAP Business ByDesign | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | Navigator Business Solutions | 2012 | 2012 | In 2012 CountryWide Tire selected SAP Business ByDesign and engaged Navigator Business Solutions to replace an unstable on premise ERP that had growing customization and multi warehouse limitations, initiating a cloud deployment of an ERP Financial solution to reduce internal IT maintenance and support business growth. The decision followed a configuration failure in early 2012 that broke prior customizations, prompting a move to a vendor managed cloud architecture to keep the application current and relieve in house server administration across operations, purchasing and IT functions. The implementation focused on core ERP Financial capabilities including financial management, order to cash, invoicing automation, inventory and warehouse management, procurement workflows and operational reporting. SAP Business ByDesign was configured to support automated invoicing and Excel exportable reports, and a notable configuration effort resolved prepaid freight accounting so freight costs could be calculated per sale without appearing on customer invoices. The project emphasized configurable business processes over custom code to reduce ongoing maintenance and enable faster adjustments to business rules. Navigator Business Solutions led process mapping, data migration and system configuration, while CountryWide Tire validated multi warehouse fulfillment and new direct shipment workflows that enabled container to customer deliveries. The solution was deployed as a cloud hosted service maintained by SAP, and the implementation prepared the platform to support expanded direct sales channels including plans for B2C in addition to existing B2B operations. Governance combined Navigator led system testing and user training with CountryWide Tire process owners, completing planning, migration, setup, training and testing in roughly six months and achieving go live in January, 2013. Explicit outcomes reported by the company include an estimated 11,000 dollars per year reduction in IT expenses, more than 12 staff hours saved per day in the first year, a new direct shipment revenue stream representing roughly 20 percent of revenue, and a net headcount reduction consistent with shifted labor from manual tasks to automated processes. |
