Cox Communications in 2014 implemented UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) to replace a legacy time-and-attendance environment, categorizing the deployment under Absence and Leave Management. The project included a planned upgrade from Kronos 7.0 to a Kronos 8.0 cloud solution and creation of a business case and project plan to justify and scope the move.
The implementation encompassed full Workforce Central (WFC) functionality: Timekeeper, Leave/Absence, Attendance, Accruals, Workforce Scheduler (WFS), HR/Payroll interfaces, Analytics, Connect and DCM. Technical work included configuring web and application servers, creating and maintaining Workforce Integration Manager (WIM) interfaces for employee-data transfers, and deploying GTOR for InTouch/4500 and 4500 Biometric/InTouch 9000 time clocks. Integrations were implemented with downstream payroll and enterprise systems, including SAP, JDA/Vortex and retail enterprise data flows, and mobile notification integration via JDA/Vortex.
Rollout and operational scope covered enterprise-level timekeeping and scheduling across divisions (including a consumer division added during upgrade), payroll and benefits transaction validation, and training for division payroll staff. The program delivered end-to-end and parallel testing, error reporting and escalation processes, ongoing production support, customized pay rules, work rules and security profiles, and ongoing maintenance of time clocks, pay codes, schedules and accrual profiles.
