SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Daimler Truck implemented SAP S/4 HANA as the core ERP Financial platform to establish a future-oriented finance and controlling system for Truck AG. The rollout emphasized an ITG/F Industrial Templates FC approach and the design of a harmonized FC template under the One ERP concept to map ERP processes and align NACOS, cbFC and CoFiCo harmonization requirements. The implementation focused on finance and controlling functional areas, including accounting, central financial statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable current account processing, controlling and general ledger capabilities within SAP S/4 HANA. Configuration work prioritized template-driven process mapping, standardized master data and configurable controlling logic to support consolidated reporting and statutory accounting workflows in a multi-entity corporate structure. Operational integration tied SAP S/4 HANA to Finance and Controlling stakeholders and internal IT teams, with international coverage for business partners in Germany and abroad. Cross-functional and international working groups of process and IT experts were used to analyze and optimize business processes, advise on technical requirements and coordinate system-side implementations across Daimler Truck locations. Governance emphasized project management, control and coordination of plans and roll-outs in an international environment, and active participation in the conception and design of the future FC Landscape. The program included methodical and procedural analysis, system support for preparation of proper financial statements, and ongoing identification of untapped potential through evaluation and use of new IT technologies.
