In 2020 Delaware Electric implemented NISC ABS as its ERP Financial application to centralize accounting and financial operations for the Cooperative. The implementation configured core ERP Financial capabilities including accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, monthly bank reconciliations, plant and property recordkeeping, work order audit support, corporate credit card administration, and support for inventory counts. Budgeting workflows were integrated with the Cooperative's budgeting software and the system was used to maintain subsidiary records for tracking monthly power cost and reconciling the power cost adjustment account.
Operational workflows implemented in NISC ABS include daily cash transaction handling such as initiating and approving wire transfers, voiding checks, issuing stop payments, clearing checks, and processing checks and ACH payments. The platform was used to prepare annual audit confirmations and audit schedules, to monitor and reconcile miscellaneous accounts receivable, and to support short and long range financial forecasts and capital and expense budget preparation.
