Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation Utilities 200 $182M United States IFS IFS Mobile Workforce Management Workforce Management 2019 n/a
In 2019, Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation implemented IFS Mobile Workforce Management within a Workforce Management initiative. The utility spent three to four months scoping requirements and investigating peer approaches to manipulate and present AMI data in more intelligent, consumable formats before engaging with IFS, and the NRTC recommended IFS and facilitated BEMC’s attendance at IFS’s annual User Group meeting which led to formal engagement. Deployment focused on core Workforce Management capabilities in IFS Mobile Workforce Management, including work order management, mobile field execution for crews, dispatch and scheduling, and mobile data capture to support AMI-driven decision workflows. The solution was configured to present AMI-derived meter and interval data in operational views so field technicians could access meter events and assigned work through mobile devices, with data-modeling and workflow templates aligned to meter analytics use cases. The implementation incorporated ingestion and normalization of AMI data feeds into IFS Mobile Workforce Management to create a single operational view for field operations and meter services. Operational coverage centered on field operations and meter services where dispatch, crew scheduling and field execution workflows were instrumented to consume AMI insights, with a mobile client linked to a centralized IFS application server to support field connectivity and work order lifecycle management. Rollout was phased and governance emphasized standardizing field workflows and data presentation for AMI use cases, informed by the initial scoping period and by insights from industry events and the IFS user community. The NRTC recommendation and early engagement with IFS shaped configuration choices and initial training, with program governance focused on aligning field crew processes and meter operations to the new Workforce Management platform.
