In 2018, Dentsu UK implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as part of a Global Finance Transformation Programme. The Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations implementation targeted Americas, EMEA, and APAC and sought to unify DAN brands onto a single ERP Financial platform to provide standardized market level financial reporting and consistent finance processes across regions.
The deployment focused on ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger consolidation, standardized chart of accounts, statutory reporting configuration, and localized tax and legal configuration per market. The programme followed a rapid deployment methodology, limiting customization to required statutory and tax variations while maintaining a common finance platform for corporate finance and statutory reporting functions.
Test governance and execution were core to the rollout, with Test Plans and Test Schedules developed per market for end to end and UAT phases and global success criteria applied. Test artifacts, progress tracking and defect workflows were managed using Azure DevOps VSTS, markets defined non functional testing scope and automated regression test packs, and test scenarios and cases were produced and executed against agreed exit criteria.
Operational coordination included managing and co ordinating E2E and UAT testing cycles, facilitating defect management and triage meetings, and preparing Test Closure Reports at the end of formal test phases. An offshore team was initiated to handle regression and automation testing, the Test Manager reported execution statistics and defect commentary to senior leadership and the CFO, and production validation testing was co ordinated on go live day.
