| Aurion | Legacy | Aurion Core HR | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Department of Energy and Climate implemented Aurion Core HR, deploying a Core HR platform to centralize personnel records and workforce administration across the agency. Aurion Core HR was established as the system of record for employee master data, HR workflows, and role-based access controls.
The implementation focused on Core HR capabilities including employee lifecycle management, position and classification management, leave and entitlements administration, and configuration of HR workflows and security roles. Configuration work included data model harmonization and role configuration within Aurion Core HR, with particular attention to preserving HR policy and industrial relations rules in system logic.
A subsequent payroll migration project executed a migration from Ellipse to Aurion ACE, consolidating payroll processing and using Aurion Core HR as the authoritative HR master data feed into Aurion ACE. Operational coverage included departmental HR teams and payroll functions supporting staff across Queensland, including Townsville and remote workers, and the migration involved end-to-end data conversion and cutover coordination between HR business units and payroll operations.
Governance emphasized stakeholder engagement, change management, and HR subject matter expert leadership to redesign end-to-end processes, develop communication and training plans, and assign accountability for adoption across managers and employees. The project team delivered the implementation on time with no significant failures, reported a 30% savings on budget and did not use contingency, and won the Department's 2023 Excellence Award in the Unleash Potential category.

| Hitachi Vantara | Legacy | Hitachi Ellipse EAM | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2011 | 2011 |
In 2011, the Department of Energy and Climate implemented Hitachi Ellipse EAM to establish a centralized Enterprise Asset Management capability supporting QBuild, the Queensland Government business unit responsible for managing government agency assets. The implementation emphasized core EAM functions, specifically capital delivery, asset management, maintenance including work order management, and financial management and reporting, using Hitachi Ellipse EAM as the primary application platform.
The deployment architecture for Hitachi Ellipse EAM was positioned to integrate with existing satellite systems and financial reporting feeds, and to support operational governance across QBuild service delivery to agency asset owners throughout Queensland. The program rationale documented in the EPW tender highlighted four strategic drivers, business risk, rebuild QBuild, need for more contemporary systems, and process simplification, and it recorded that the QBuild instance of Ellipse 6.4 implemented in 2009 had reached end of life. Procurement guidance signaled openness to modular or ecosystem solutions rather than a strict like for like upgrade, which frames governance, staged rollout and modularization decisions for ongoing EAM operations and future platform evolution.
