| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2018, Deutsche Bank USA implemented SAP S/4 HANA to provide more real-time information to manage risk and exposure for its fixed income portfolio. The program targeted North America, covering the United States and Canada, with a global PMO based in Singapore and a New York based SAP Project Manager leading local execution from August 2019 to October 2020.
Deutsche Bank USA configured SAP S/4 HANA to replace SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and to supplant a Computer Associates general ledger solution, focusing on core financial ledger modernization. Functional workstreams included localization of the general ledger structure, development of regulatory reporting requirements, and trading desk reporting requirements, with the SAP S/4 HANA implementation scoped to handle GL consolidation and financial accounting workflows consistent with an ERP Financial deployment.
The implementation required close collaboration with traders and controllers to translate front office exposure and position needs into reporting specifications, and to align UAT scenarios with trading and control workflows. Integration efforts emphasized aligning reporting outputs and GL mappings with the trading desk and controller business functions, and organizing end to end test plans for user acceptance testing.
Governance was operated through the global PMO in Singapore, with project status management and reporting performed by the SAP Project Manager in New York. The project produced detailed functional requirements, configured localization and regulatory reporting, and produced test plans for UAT, all intended to enable more timely risk and exposure visibility within the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial environment.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Deutsche Bank USA implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday v.29 (30) HCM deployment, aligning the Workday Absence Management rollout with the bank's Absence and Leave Management requirements. The engagement ran from April 2017 to September 2018 and was executed in the context of a global financial institution program with coordination from Frankfurt, Germany, while targeting HR and workforce absence processes for the U.S. business unit.
The implementation encompassed configuration and design of HCM core components alongside Compensation, Absence, benefits, and Talent modules. Workstreams included business process development for absence workflows, role based security configuration for absence approvals, and the creation and maintenance of detailed design specification documents for HCM core, compensation, Absence, and benefits modules to ensure requirements from HR business process owners were captured and validated.
Operational coverage focused on HR and compensation functions, with explicit involvement of HR business process owners for requirement definition and feasibility analysis. The deployment emphasized alignment between absence policies and compensation processes, reflecting integrated configuration across Workday Absence Management, HCM core, and Compensation to preserve consistent workforce data and time off entitlements across affected business functions.
Governance and control centered on formalized business process development and security models, driven by the Lead Managing Principal Consultant role which coordinated project design, configuration, and specification maintenance. Documentation practices and security configuration were used to operationalize approvals and exception handling, supporting sustainable process ownership by HR stakeholders without introducing unverified claims about outcomes or metrics.
