Legal Files Software Legacy Legal Files Matter and Legal Case Management Case Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2017 In 2017, the Diocese of Providence implemented Legal Files Matter and Legal Case Management, a Case Management application, to serve its Diocesan Marriage Tribunal Office. The project was explicitly scoped to meet Catholic canon government case management and reporting requirements, as described by the diocese's Matthew Orzolek. The deployment configured core matter management and legal case management capabilities, including case intake, configurable matter records, document management, and reporting, with an emphasis on configurable screens and custom fields to capture canonical data. Legal Files Matter and Legal Case Management was used to build tailored tribunal workflows for case lifecycles, enabling configurable status tracking, task assignment, and evidence and chronology tracking aligned to tribunal adjudication processes. Operational coverage targeted the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal Office and its specially trained priests and lay adjudicators, with role based permissions and case level confidentiality controls aligned to tribunal governance. The system was positioned as a central case repository and reporting engine to support canonical adjudication and internal tribunal reporting obligations. Governance and rollout planning emphasized ongoing configurability, reflecting the diocese's decision to use Legal Files for its customization tools so the system could be configured for immediate needs while retaining flexibility for future changes. This approach combined initial configuration for tribunal reporting requirements with a governance posture that preserves iterative process tuning and schema adjustments as tribunal needs evolve.
