In 2018, Dragon LNG implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management solution, completing an upgrade to Maximo 7.5 with Peacock Engineering appointed to provide ongoing Maximo support and to deliver the upgrade. The company had been operating IBM Maximo version 6.2.5 for asset maintenance and support contracts were coming to an end, which prompted the reassessment of systems and support arrangements.
The deployment focused on integrating Peacock Engineering's Fingertip mobile application to digitize ATEX inspections, using the Fingertip Audit and Inspection capability to create mobile forms that mirror existing paper forms. IBM Maximo was configured to accept real time inspection inputs from Fingertip, to create and issue work orders for flagged items, to schedule reinspections, and to maintain a centralized audit trail and inspection history within the Enterprise Asset Management system.
The integration architecture preserved IBM Maximo as the single source of truth, with Fingertip writing asset and inspection data directly into Maximo to ensure accuracy and availability of maintenance records. Operational scope started at the Dragon LNG import terminal and covered field technicians, maintenance and compliance teams, and was later extended to mechanical equipment inspections including pressure relief valve testing and inspection of critical and non critical joints and flanges.
Governance and rollout were executed to minimize user disruption by presenting screens and output reports that matched the paper forms, enabling immediate technician adoption and reducing training friction, and Peacock Engineering provided a single point of support for both the mobile and Maximo layers. According to Dragon LNG, administrative tasks associated with ATEX inspections were eradicated through real time data entry at the point of work, an audit trail was centralized in IBM Maximo, and an administrative position was not replaced after implementation because the new process removed the need; the Fingertip and IBM Maximo integration has been in use for three years.

In 2022, Dragon LNG implemented AVEVA Process Simulation to monitor and optimize LNG terminal performance at its facility in Wales. The deployment used AVEVA Process Simulation as the central Process Simulation engine to support operations and asset performance activities across the UK site.
AtkinsRealis served as the implementation partner and integrated AVEVA Process Simulation with AVEVA PI data, streaming historian telemetry into live simulation models for continuous benchmarking and setpoint optimization. The implementation focused on configuring process simulation models, real-time model execution, and automated benchmarking workflows that delivered simulation-based setpoint recommendations into operator decision pathways.
Operational scope targeted operations and asset performance teams at the terminal, aligning simulation outputs with existing operator workflows and asset governance for performance monitoring. According to AVEVA materials, the solution produced energy-efficiency and operational-insight benefits while AtkinsRealis managed integration and rollout activities.
