| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2020 |
In 2019, Dunzo implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its core finance application. The deployment positioned Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as the ERP Financial backbone for Dunzo Digital Pvt Ltd, consolidating accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed asset, cash and banking, and budgeting processes into a single finance platform.
The implementation focused on configuring business logic across AP, AR, GL, Fixed Asset, Cash and Banking, and Budgeting modules, with extensive SSRS reporting developed to meet operational needs. Custom functional work included free text invoice number handling, free text invoice posting with automated email containing a PDF tax invoice, purchase order numbering variants, GL import with split dimension support, and payment journal posting with automated email containing a PDF payment advice report.
Operational coverage extended across finance and accounting teams and included specialized billing workflows for delivery riders, evidenced by a custom bike rider invoice import process that generated reports and automated emails. The solution included bank details exporting features to populate vendor payment journals and batch processes that attached invoice and payment reports for automated mailing, aligning batch scheduling with financial closing and payment cycles.
Governance and workflow changes accompanied the technical work, with configuration of posting routines and batch job orchestration to support automated report distribution and vendor payment workflows. Numbering schemes and import templates were formalized to accommodate different purchase order series and split dimension GL loads, and SSRS report templates were versioned to support new mail attachment requirements.
Implementation challenges were concentrated in customization and reporting complexity, requiring bespoke development for free text invoice handling, emailed PDF attachments for tax invoices and payment advices, and customization of default fixed asset balance reporting. Additional reporting work included tailored outputs for purchase orders, tax invoices, bike rider invoices, sales pro-forma invoices, payment advice documents, and vendor statement reports.
