| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 Ecotricity implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support ERP Financial functions across the group, establishing a program-level focus on meter-to-cash and broader finance processes. The initiative was driven from board level, with a technology lead charged with an organisation-wide strategy who built and led a team of 50 plus staff, and held Capex and Opex budgetary responsibility in excess of £6m per annum.
The deployment of SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was paired with a CRM and ECC innovation programme that addressed eight years of un-applied upgrades over a nine month period, and delivered targeted meter-to-cash business process optimisation. The programme included configuration and release management for ECC, coordinated upgrade sequencing, and Agile-based design and delivery of customer self-service capabilities across Android, iOS and browser channels.
Architecture and operational modernisation work ran alongside the ERP programme, using a hybrid cloud approach to standardise networks, server and storage platforms, telephony using SIP and desktop virtualization using VDI. The technology agenda assessed cloud-based HR and payroll solutions, including SuccessFactors and ADP, for business suitability and resultant integration pathways, and it architected SAP and cloud platform connections to support a new Electric Vehicle Charging-for-Charging solution and customer-facing mobile applications.
Governance changes included the establishment of a new PMO function and Agile delivery practices to coordinate multi-company rollouts across Ecotricity Group Ltd. The effort also encompassed technical negotiations and SLA-based commercial agreements to support a mobile MVNO launch, and delivered discrete outcomes cited in the programme notes, specifically substantial meter-to-cash optimisation and an initial revenue-generating electric vehicle charging solution using SAP and cloud-based platforms.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft 365 | Collaboration | Collaboration | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Ecotricity implemented Microsoft 365 as its Collaboration platform. Ecotricity uses Microsoft 365 on their website and operates a cloud-hosted Microsoft 365 tenant to provide organization-wide collaboration and productivity services.
The deployment emphasizes core Collaboration capabilities, including Exchange Online for corporate email, SharePoint Online for intranet and document management, OneDrive for Business for personal file storage, Microsoft Teams for real-time chat and meetings, and the Microsoft Office productivity suite for content authoring. Operational coverage is framed around corporate communications, document publishing, and cross-functional collaboration, supporting business functions such as operations, customer service, finance, and marketing. The Microsoft 365 instance is surfaceable from the public website, indicating its role in both internal collaboration and external-facing corporate communication workflows.
Governance and operational controls are implemented through role-based administration, license and group governance, and content lifecycle policies to manage access and information governance. The implementation narrative centers on Microsoft 365 as the primary Collaboration platform for Ecotricity, with tenant-level management and policy controls underpinning day-to-day collaboration and productivity.
