In 2025, Elkem deployed Icertis Contract Intelligence to digitally transform its global commercial and supply chain contracting processes and to ensure compliance. The deployment targets Elkem's commercial teams, procurement and supplier management across its 31 production sites and global sales offices, unifying contract data to support both process and discrete manufacturing businesses.
Elkem implemented core Icertis capabilities including the ICI Experience for Salesforce, the ICI Sourcing application, and the ICI Supplier Onboarding and Diversity Compliance application. The ICI Experience for Salesforce enables sales teams to create, view, approve and collaborate on contracts inside the CRM environment. ICI Sourcing places contracts at the center of sourcing workflows to improve compliance and visibility, while the Supplier Onboarding and Diversity Compliance application supports rapid supplier evaluation and onboarding with collaboration features.
The solution is integrated with Salesforce, SAP ECC, Infor M3 and Elkem's supplier relationship management system to connect contract metadata and obligations with commercial, ERP and procurement systems. Icertis Contract Intelligence serves as a Contract Lifecycle Management hub, structuring contract data and surfacing obligations to downstream systems and business processes. This integration supports a seamless lead to contract flow for business users and centralizes contract insight for supply chain decision making.
Governance changes accompanying the rollout include standardized contract collaboration and approval workflows embedded in the CRM, centralized sourcing workflows that place contractual terms at decision points, and supplier compliance gating during onboarding. Legal, commercial and procurement functions are aligned to workflows based on Icertis to improve consistency in contract authoring, approval and obligation management. The platform enables analytics based decision making by making contract terms and supplier compliance data systematically available.
Elkem expects the Icertis Contract Intelligence deployment to reduce risk, ensure compliance, accelerate business and increase the quality of insight and decision making, while creating additional commercial opportunities as the company grows. The implementation supports Elkem's stated sustainability and growth strategy by making contract intent actionable across commercial and supply chain functions.
