| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2014 | 2015 |
In 2014 EnergySolutions implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to centralize core finance operations and support ERP Financial processes across the enterprise. The deployment was executed as an R12.2 single instance global rollout designed to run in a 24/7 global environment, aligning the application architecture with centralized transaction processing and financial control requirements.
Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to support standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and cash management, while enabling procure to pay and billing workflows. Configuration and solution architecture work followed formal methodologies, driven by functional and technical specifications, requirements analysis and a blended AIM, SDLC and Agile delivery approach.
Integrations were explicit components of the program, including a SaaS HCM rollout that integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite and the integration of the single instance with other IT applications using SOA methodology. Operational coverage included a global enterprise applications group with solution managers, architects, analysts, developers, DBAs, system administrators and a 24/7 support team to sustain live operations and cross functional transaction flows between finance and HR.
Governance was formalized through an enterprise PMO created to provide project oversight, change management and process improvement across implementations. The program produced management information dashboards and KPIs to support operational and financial decision making, and the applications team led post merger application and data integration efforts to align acquired entities.
Documented outcomes tied to the implementation and related governance work included a 75% reduction in open support tickets, an improvement in days sales outstanding of 15% and negotiation of approximately 45% cost savings toward total cost of ownership for the applications footprint. The engagement also supported a successful SaaS HCM rollout integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite and enabled more disciplined financial operations and M&A integration activity.
