In 2020, Excelsia College implemented Ascender Preceda Absence Management to formalize and operationalize a new institutional leave benefit policy effective 01 April 2020. The deployment focused on Absence and Leave Management for permanent full time and part time staff, encoding eligibility rules and anniversary-based entitlement tiers within the application.
Ascender Preceda Absence Management was configured to record a distinct Leave Benefit ledger entry named Leave Benefit, and to apply two service tiers of additional accrual, one week after two years of service and two weeks after five years of service. Accrual logic was set to commence on each employee anniversary, to calculate pro rata entitlements for part time employees based on hours worked, and to enforce expiry so the extra leave does not roll over beyond the anniversary year. The configuration also excludes the Leave Benefit from leave loading calculations and prevents payment of the benefit on resignation or termination.
Operational coverage centered on HR and payroll workflows at Excelsia College in Australia, providing entitlement calculation, accrual posting, expiry enforcement, and a persistent Leave Benefit entry for manager and employee visibility. The Ascender Preceda Absence Management instance serves as the system of record for these benefit entries, reducing manual entitlement adjustments and centralizing absence accounting.
Governance was implemented by encoding the policy rules directly within the Absence and Leave Management configuration, with HR assigned to maintain anniversary dates and to manage exceptions. In 2018, Excelsia College deployed Zoho Analytics (ex Zoho Reports) to centralize reporting and create executive dashboards within its Analytics and BI environment. The Zoho Analytics implementation was delivered as part of a broader Zoho platform rollout and addressed a pattern of manual exports and fragmented reporting that had required staff to manipulate CRM data in spreadsheets.
The implementation configured Zoho Analytics dashboards and a tailored data model that reflected the restructured CRM entities of Leads, Accounts, Contacts and Potentials. Zoho Analytics was used to surface management-level dashboards and ad hoc reporting, removing the need for repeated exports from the CRM and enabling standardized report views across admissions and academic administration.
OscilloSoft built API connections and integration points so Zoho Analytics consumed structured data from the Zoho CRM instance and from systems integrated into the CRM, including Paradigm for student records and IMAP for email logging. Google Adwords and Zoho Social feeds were integrated into the CRM as explicit data sources, enabling source attribution data to flow through the CRM into Zoho Analytics for consolidated reporting.
OscilloSoft also restructured CRM data and provided onsite training on Zoho CRM, Zoho Analytics and the API integrations, establishing governance around data structure and reporting responsibility. As a result Excelsia College reported increased visibility and tracking for marketing and admissions workflows, reduced manual processes for staff, and overall satisfaction with the consolidated reporting delivered by Zoho Analytics (ex Zoho Reports).
