Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS Point Of Sale ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Farmlands Co-operative implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS as its Point Of Sale solution. A Change Lead based in Christchurch led a variable team of up to 15 to manage the organizational introduction of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS across the retailer. Implementation scope covered retail transaction processing at 82 branches and staff adoption across approximately 1400 employees, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS configured to operate alongside finance and customer engagement capabilities. Configuration work emphasized POS transaction workflows, inventory-aware sales processes, and role based access to align retail tills with centralized financial and customer records. Execution was collaborative, delivered internally in partnership with Microsoft and Deloitte, and included a blended learning approach integrating online modules with classroom style training. The program trained more than 100 internal trainers who then cascaded training and communications to all retail and support staff, ensuring operational readiness at each branch. Governance and change management were formalized under a contract running from May 2018 to November 2019, with responsibilities including change impact assessment across business functions, training needs analysis, targeted communications, and cultural change work to foster a more positive and change ready organization. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS was cited repeatedly in project artifacts as the Point Of Sale application central to retail operations and staff enablement.
