In 2010, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco implemented Fujitsu Interstage as a Process Mining application to support data quality and process analysis workflows. The initial implementation emphasized automated detection and reporting of incorrect or suspicious records sourced from the National Information Center relational database, positioning Fujitsu Interstage as a platform for process discovery and analytics used by reporting and supervisory teams.
Configuration and functional modules included automated reporting pipelines driven by SQL-based data extraction, process discovery and visualization capabilities consistent with Process Mining use cases, and Fujitsu Interstage XWand for XBRL taxonomy development. The environment incorporated scheduled data quality checks and bespoke automation, with custom VBA for Excel tools developed to reduce manual taxonomy authoring and reporting tasks.
Integrations were explicit and operational, the implementation consumed relational data from the National Information Center via SQL queries and produced customized reports in Excel and Access for internal consumers. Operational coverage extended across internal departments at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and included knowledge transfer to district analysts, with instruction delivered to over 25 analysts representing 12 Federal Reserve Districts and the Board of Governors.
Governance and rollout emphasized centralized taxonomy stewardship and team-based development, a team of nine taxonomy developers was led for taxonomy production and problem resolution. The deployment delivered automated reporting and taxonomy workflows, and operational support included regular cross-departmental assistance for ad hoc data requests and report customization.
